2019 Chateau Haut Clary Red Bordeaux 2019 Cost: $14.99 Alcohol: 13.5% It is getting increasingly difficult to find a decent Red Bordeaux under $20.00 but it can be done. This is a fine example of a bottle that is ready to drink and priced incredibly well. On a recent trip to Grapevine Wines and Spirits in Kirkwood, MO we picked up this well-priced wine from Chateau Haut Clary. A 2019 vintage that is full of blackberry and blackcurrant on the nose. As you taste you find the red fruits coming forward with notes of strawberry and red currant and enticing vanilla overtones from the oak. A great bottle with steak or even a great hamburger. It is ready to drink and priced to enjoy often.

2021 Sean Minor Rosé of Pinot Noir Cost: $13.99 Alcohol: 11.5% It is Rosé season, and this is a great go-to for porch-sipping this summer. We stopped by the Wine and Cheese Place in Kirkwood, and this was one of their featured wines. We picked up a bottle to try and were back the next day for a case. The light salmon color and flavors of stone fruit and watermelon provide a thirst-quenching joy on a sweltering day. You can smell the berries and cherry blossoms and taste a bright mineral acidity. It is a delightful wine and priced so well you can enjoy it often. This Rosé is #alwaysinvited to our table. Wine Review:
2019 Anne Pichon Sauvage Syrah-Grenache Ventoux Cost: $18.99 Alcohol: 15% This is a celebration of female winemakers. This unfiltered blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache is full of floral aromas with bold fruit flavors and a subtle sweet spice. This wine is called “Sauvage” inspired by Anne Pichons’ respect for and her attachment to nature which is evident in the production of this wine. With a long, earthy finish and the flavor of black currant lingering on the palate this Rhone Blend of Cotes du Ventoux is an excellent wine and a terrific value. Wine Review:

This was a featured wine with our recent purchase through @macyswine Wine Review:
2020 Hampton Water Rosé Cost: $19.99 Alcohol: 12.5% A light, lovely, lively wine with the expected strawberry and citrus notes. A nice minerality and a long finish from aging in French Oak. A medium body but well-balanced with a bright acidic thread. A blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah. A truly excellent expression of a southern French rosé. Enjoy with light appetizers or just sipping on the porch! |
